The Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry started in 2006 and is a joint venture between Holy Spirit Episcopal Church and Assumption BVM Catholic Church. The pantry is located at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1200 Post Road, Belmont, MI., and is open one evening a week, on Thursdays from 6-7:30 pm. It operates with the support of North Kent Connect (NKC) and through Feeding America West Michigan. Clients of NKC are welcome to use our food pantry. For more information on becoming a client, visit nkconnect.org/clients or call NKC at (616) 866-3478. PLEASE NOTE: If you are in need of immediate food or housing assistance, please call 2-1-1 (800-887-1107).
At our pantry, clients are assisted by volunteers to shop for the foods they like and will use. Our pantry takes pride in offering healthy choices and fresh options and also offers personal care items.

In 2025, the pantry served 366 family units. For many individuals, this was their first visit to our pantry. These families were made up of 1,302 people, receiving approximately 16,900 items of food and necessary supplies.
To keep the shelves stocked, members of each congregation regularly contribute food, funds, and volunteer their time to support our efforts.
As the need for food assistance increases, the pantry continues to seek support from our community. We need your help. We are very grateful for monetary donations to the pantry. Checks should be made payable to Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry and sent to either Holy Spirit or Assumption. Donations can also be submitted via PayPal with the link below. All or part of your gift may be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution (please check with your tax adviser). You do not need to have a PayPal account –you can use your major credit card. All contributions made through this link go directly to the food pantry.
